A level Business Studies (7132)
Exam Board: AQA
Students will be studying the newly designed and updated A Level Business Studies qualification. The new Business Studies A Level qualification enables students to develop practical problem-solving skills and to acquire the higher order thinking skills necessary to effectively engage in the analysis and evaluation of the issues and challenges that both small and larger businesses face. An overview of the main subject content includes:
- Management, leadership and decision-making
- Decision-making to improve business performance in the functional areas of; marketing, operations, finance and human resources
- Business strategy
- Managing change
The course is formally assessed at the end Year 13 where students will take three examinations each worth one third of the overall A Level grade. These three examinations will each be two hours in length and assessed out of 100 raw marks. The examinations combine a mixture of different assessments and include; multiple choice questions, short answer questions, essay questions, data response questions and questions based on business case studies.
