Years 7 - 11 Careers Events

We like to encourage our students to think about their future careers at every opportunity, and to inspire them, we regularly hold career events and career talks. Here are a few events held for years 7-11 in 2023-2024:

Year 10, Hertford Regional College Taster Day

On Wednesday 12th June we trialled our first trip of its kind to Hertford Regional College for a Taster Day. A small group of Year 10 students were able to sample workshops in Computing, Brick Laying (Construction), Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering. Students were able to sample the refectory choices on campus and also attended talks about College Life, Apprenticeships and T-Levels. The students really enjoyed themselves and it was great to see them getting involved and thinking about their next steps after year 11.

Here our Year 10 students sampled brick laying and mechanical engineering.

Year 7 Careers Talk with Captain Emma

On Wednesday 19th June the Year 7’s excitedly gathered in our Hume Theatre to meet Captain Emma.

The talk started off with asking the students about their dream careers and encouraging all students to make use of their Unifrog profiles to research their dream career and find out what steps they need to make.

Captain Emma then spoke proudly of her pathway to becoming a Pilot, the skills needed to be a pilot, work life balance and a day in the life of her career.
